Unlike other prestigious tourist attractions in Taipei, such as Shilin Night Market , Taipei 101, Ximending , and the National Palace Museum, Nanyang Street may have an understated reputation. Geographically , Nanyang Street is adjacent to Taipei Main Station . What makes it unique from other sites is thousands of Taiwanese students pour into this street to attend cram schools — private educational institutions — after their regular education every weekday . Perhaps tourists may not find Nanyang Street in travel books , or it may be barely recommended by the locals , but Nanyang Street , for many Taiwanese people , is metonymically understood as the kingdom of cram schools .(source chinapost.com.tw)
